I am sure that many of you out there are aware that the average private pay cost of a nursing home is well over $7,000 per month. In fact according to CNN Money.com (Sept. 12, 2006)"the average annual cost of nursing-home care in the U.S. is projected to rise to $175,000 by 2020.”
It is therefore very important that we understand the various strategies that the law provides in order to qualify for Medicaid so that the State of Illinois would pay for a senior’s nursing home costs.
Using a Personal Services Contract is an example of just one strategy that experienced Elder Law attorneys use to help people qualify for Medicaid.
